2018 NARI Capital CotY Merit Award Winner, Residential Kitchen $60,001 to $100,000
This busy household of four got themselves wrapped around extreme daily routine such as school, couple soccer practices and games, piano lessons, girl scout and more.
What they had in their current kitchen and laundry room was not suitable for their busy daily routine. After listening to their concerns, we have come up with a plan to relocate the laundry room to the second floor outside of the girl’s bedroom, converting a hall linen closet and bedroom closet behind it to their new laundry room.
This act enabled us to tear out the old laundry room and add space to new kitchen. Taking down a bearing wall between the kitchen and family room allowed massive amount daylight to both spaces. The small windows in the kitchen and laundry room was replaced with a large picture window to allow nice daylight from the south side. This caused a major impact on the exterior brick wall and matching with finger joints of the new and old brick which was a difficult task. But it turned out great.
Tearing out the closet and butler area, relocating HVAC lines, duct work, gas lines and second floor plumbing lines have been a major challenge for this project.
She wanted to relocate the stove from the island to the backwall and place a big furniture looking island in the center of this kitchen. A beautiful custom stained island was implemented in the middle, giving seating opportunity and large counter space for serving and banquet uses.
Double-stacked white classic cabinetry with lots of displaying glass cabinet, lots of direct and indirect lighting as well as gorgeous pendant lights are a few of the amenities of this award-winning kitchen.
The 48” gas range and large-scale appliances, all contributing to this stunning space. The new hardwood floor with its espresso low gloss finish creates an endless look to the entire first floor space.
Now even busier than before, they are ecstatic about their new kitchen and laundry room. “Isn’t life great?” she said.
