Couple of Doctors have owned this single family home in Lansdowne area of Leesburg, ready to tackle the basement renovation project.
The existing space was partially finished by the original builder with standard drywall and carpeting. They wanted to go all out and create a space for large parties, theater room, Gym, a spa like bathroom, full bar with all necessary equipment. Also wanted a lounge area and gaming area.
The obstacles where placement of the steel beams, where staircase to the second floor was located and leak of ground plumbing availabilities where we would like to place the new bar and full bath.
Our design staff wanted to implement several tray ceilings with small size recess lighting inside to identify each designated area (Bar area, dance area, lounging and gaming).
The right wall of this basement was the best location to place the large bar setting they were imagined it. The problem was that there was no plumbing or electrical with 100 ft of that space. We have supplied all necessary electrical, supply and drain line through busting concrete floors.
This large (about 18 ft long) bar and middle island ( two tier) covered with cherry cabinetry, contrasting black accent cabinets and stone walls taken over a large portion of this basement, allowing the couple to prepare, cook, store and serve over 60-100 guests at a time. Use of a very exotic rain forest quartzite countertop has glorified this basement.
Same veneer stone was used to hide all steel columns and the feature fireplace wall. We have created a lounging area with a large 100” linear fireplace and a full stone wall, and a flat screen TV just over it.
Few steps away we have designated a gaming area for pool table surround with two tone built INS in order to display prized trophies.
Creative lighting design such as chandeliers, pendants, sconces and down lights has glorified this basement.
Further down the hall we have designated a 15’x24’ space to become an in home Gym. Full wall mirrors, rubber floors, lights, wall hung TV and iPod ready surround sound were amenities of this space.
The leading stairway was revamped with new wood steps and wrought iron railing.
The old builder’s standard bathroom was torn down. We have enlarged the bathroom into adjacent storage space, creating a space to inset an all tile steam shower stall.
Designers spent a lot of time and effort to design a patterned mosaic tile for this spa and bath, which was complimenting the vanity, exotic top and vessel sink.
The entire main area of this basement is now covered with large dimension porcelain tile carefully ties to stone color schemes.
The end part of this basement was occupied by this state of the art Media/theater room. Movie style platform seating with Lounge chairs, surround sound, 110” screen, star panel ceiling, faux finish wall and lots more has become the new hang out joint for the kids and visiting friends.
It was time to party. The dance floor was busy, music was loud and could be heard all over thorough new surround sound system, kids were eating popcorn in the movie room, adults shooting pool and having drinks.
The glow of fireplace in low dimmed are was breath taking.
