2016 NARI Capital CotY Merit Award Winner, Creative Solutions Under $15,000

This family of four has owned this center colonial in Ashburn, VA for more than a decade. They had an old wood burning fireplace with wall to wall brick mantel. Homeowner no longer wanted to have this with their new upgraded kitchen and floors. It was time for a total overhaul;

Solution:

• Took down all brick wall and Heart

• Install framing and then drywall

• Ran electrical & AV wiring for equipment

• Ran gas line for new gas fireplace

• Build custom cabinetry and bookcase front on both side of fireplace with detail moldings

• Install ledger stone veneer over the brick wall to emphasize on the contemporariness of the design

• Install halogen lights

Conclusion:

It is Sunday 1pm and Skins were playing Cowboys . There was no place better to watch this game than in front if fireplace in this family room.
