Home Addition – 2106
These long-time residents of Great falls were getting ready for their retirement nest. The 1978 colonial home was no longer up to par with rest of growing community. They as well were looking to either move to a new development community or rebuild in same lot.
After consulting our design staff, the consensus was to keep the basement and exterior walls of old structure and build a new structure around it with three door garage, open floor plan, large open kitchen, two story with floor to ceiling fire place in family room, main level master suite, main level mudroom, powder room and a workshop for hobby.
The old home was cramped with 7’6” ceiling, tight stairwell and a galley kitchen. They imagined themselves in 10 feet ceiling with open foyer and wide staircase overlooking the foyer.
Front of the house was covered with a flagstone covered porch, stone columns, Metal roof, carriage style garage doors, stained beaded ceiling panel and a very welcoming leaded glass door and transom.
Walking through front door into an open floor plan foyer, to the right is home to Master suite bedroom with tray ceiling, and a breathtaking master bathroom.
The Detailed trim work, shaker style interior doors with top galls transom and three-piece molding added even more excitement to this home.
The left side wing was the new two-story family room and a connecting hallway to mudroom, powder room and work shop.
The entire home is covered with 7” wide plank wood floor with a pewter stained, the staircase with rod iron railing and match stained stairs complimented the contemporary décor.
Large scale appliances with a big Middle island on the south elevation of home with a delightful place for her to spend most of her times. The clever use of the light color Quartz with contemporary cabinet style and glass stacked backsplash tile added more flair to overall interior design.
Our designer worked hard and long to come up with an attractive lighting package for foyer chandler, dining room chandelier, pendent lights/ the linear gas fireplace covered with a checker style floor to ceiling porcelain is one of the eye-catching features.
The second floor with three bedrooms and a study, second floor laundry room, three private bathroom scan accommodate all visiting families. The second-floor master suite and master bathroom with soft color tones offered them even more for kids and grand kids.
The basement was revamped with new bar area, LVT flooring, new bathroom, recess lighting and a lot more for future entertainment. The harmony of hardie plank siding, metal roofing, and accent of stone front porch and back patio have completed this transformation of art & craft home and a modern interior motif. The back covered porch and stone patio is given them a experience of outdoor living space facing beautiful backyard scenery. All and all this overwhelming and magnificent transformation has given the couple a home for year to come.
