Military couple bought into a single family home in predominately Mount Vernon neighborhood about a year ago, had an old kitchen that was not appropriate for the size of the house. We removed 25ft of back load bearing wall and built a 4×25 extension into the kitchen. We relocated all the appliances to create a better work space in this large kitchen. We installed wide windows above the sink and large French door with side light leading into new stone patio. Added a very large island that contains beverage center, prep-sink and sitting space and extended cherry floors complementing cabinets and dark granite counters.
